It took a long while before I posted another blog entry again. Sorry about that. I usually get my internet connection from folks who forgot to password-protect their routers. As long as I could browse and download stuff, I’m satisfied even though it could get cold because I’m at an open area. But now I couldn’t get a decent WIFI connection. I can’t even access my own blog. I also  have so many competition because almost all of my dorm mates knows that there’s a free WIFI at the lounge/balcony area. It has become a first come first serve basis. I got tired of it all so I’ve decided to subscribe to SmartBro Unlimited Plan 999 Plug-it. I just got it today. I applied last Wednesday (I have no work that day because it was Cebu City’s Charter Day.) but I didn’t get the unit since they have no available stocks.

Sad to say, I’m not really impressed with the speed. It’s OK but not what I expected. There are times when it’s slow and I need to reconnect to reset the connection. I am yet to test the downloading speed when downloading torrent files. I guess I’m just used to the lightning speed of the internet in the office. Haha! There’s one thing I need to know, if it is possible to use OPENDNS or Google Public DNS. That could make a difference on the speed..

I’ve been busy these past few weeks. I started making my portfolio but I only have 3 designs (my past layout in rakenrol.asteeg.net, my current layout and a mockup of our batch website). If only I could score some web design jobs. I also plan to get active in 99designs.com and odesk.com. Having unlimited internet connection was the first step.

By the way, I’m going home tomorrow. It’s my Grandmother’s 15th Death Anniversary and my parents wants me home. We will be having a family lunch, I think.
